umberto and maría alejandra share a passion for the twentieth century, design, books and art. this led them to work together and form a violin and piano duo focused on 20th century and contemporary music, building their own aesthetics of sound and image and focusing (and blurring), from multiple perspectives, one of the most developed instrumental combinations over the decades. anamorphosis is an optical phenomenon; it is any painting or drawing that offers to the eye a deformed and confused image, or a regular and finished one, depending on the point of view. in the same way, from different angles, musical language can take on new meanings: this is the core of anamorfosi duo.
